Our adventure in the Reflex repair
By Marc
Well we purchased the downed and damaged Reflex scooter from our local Honda dealer today. We took it home and gave it a bath and through inspection along with and oil change.
I decided to take the scooter for a good test out on the highway and see how it did before I made any decisions on how much plastic I wanted to replace. To my surprise the, scooter does quite well on the highway. I was able to get it up to 70 with me on it. It still had a little throttle to spare. Seventy is about all I wanted to do on such a light bike, plus the tack was showing about 7200 RPM.
After the test ride of 40 miles I decided to replace the whole front fairing and mounting bracket along with the lower side panels and front turn signal covers. The rest of the bike will have to do with a repaint.
Here is a link to the bike as it sits today before any repairs were made. The fairing took a pretty hard hit on a curb where the previous owner dumped it at the DMV trying to get her license. Needless to say she did not pass the test. The bike has 1150 miles of practice riding on it and still the gal crashed at the DMV. YIKES!!!
