Christmas 2004—We Get A Shed
There hasn’t been a lot of progress on the lot lately as we’ve had to be out of town for nearly three weeks in Phoenix. I have decided to get licensed in Arizona so that I can return to practicing real estate, my life’s career. Even though I have over 27 years of experience and have been licensed in three other states, I needed to attend classes and pass an exam just as if I was brand new. The process still isn’t over; I will be sitting for the state exam sometime in January before I can actually start working.
To take you back to where we left off, after the utilities were inspected we were free to cover the trenching, which Marc did with a rental bobcat.
We finally got electricity to the main; that had taken weeks since Arizona Power Service is so busy with all the new building going on. Marc then built and completed our small tool shed and also prepared and poured the concrete parking pad for our rig. A fellow RVer from Idaho, Don, came to help.
We had gravel delivered and hand shoveled about six tons of that surrounding the pad; eventually there will be much more spread on the lot since no one here has lawns. Water is too expensive and it’s just not a smart thing to do in this arid desert environment. The completed parking pad now awaited our return from Phoenix while it had the chance to cure.
